“Ethics are principles laid down that should be followed”. Professor Philemon Amanze the SVP Academics stated this at the Babcock University Health Research Ethics Committee (BUHREC) training with the Theme: Ethical Review protocol, standards, and constructive feedback on Research conduct in an Adventist Institution of Higher Learning. The SVP in his welcome address defined ethics as the way things should be done; making the right choices as we make decisions every day, as all these are embodied in ethics.

The Director of BUHREC, Professor Olusola Ogunwenmo in his opening remarks urged the attendees for the two-day training to always get fresh ideas as the world is evolving day in and day out and should not be static as we ought to grow with the world in morals, spirituality, knowledge and all ramifications of life. He encouraged the registered attendees to participate fully as it would benefit them to contribute to the university spiritually and professionally.

The training featured various plenary sessions from important and principal officers, The Director of the Department of Research, Innovation and International Cooperation (RIIC), Professor Grace Tayo, The Director of Academic Planning, Professor Awodele Oludele, and others.
