The Department of Economics, Babcock University, held a Seminar/Lecture Series at the BBS Auditorium and was overseen by the guest Lecturer, Professor Olayiwola Erinosho who has a BSc and MA in Sociology.

Professor Olayiwola in His lecture, the place of Research in Career Development, stated that Research is essential, but Research should be distinctive, Research contributes to Knowledge, the society; policy implementation for the development of the society.

He further explained that good research attributes to clear conceptualization; it’s been read all over the world. A good research must have a rich methodology and robust analysis of Data.

Professor Olayiwola highlighted hints on how to produce good publications. A good research must be done( conceptualize good study, collect and review current literature, collect good data, do good analysis and write well), allow your publications to be reviewed, and take the reviewers' comments.

In his second lecture about Grantsmanship, He explained the essential criteria in getting grantsmanship which are Merit, Thematic areas, and geography. That in writing a proposal it should be reviewed by two to three experts, Proposals are assessed on the basis of how well the research teams demonstrate clarity on the statement of the problem including a review.
