YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

The department of Marketing and communication, Babcock University held a youth empowerment program for some senior secondary school students in the southwest region. The theme of the program “You can be what you want to be” featured two guest speakers who spoke extensively to the students.

The Director of E-learning, Professor Omobolanle Shotusa spoke on the “Quadruplet of Success”. Highlighting the major points which are Talent, intelligence, Character and Creativity, are major tools needed to be successful in their various field. She stated that Creativity is the strongest currency you can have, original ideas to create something

Professor Shotusa further urged the students to discover their talents, and find out what they are happy doing for them to explore their field judiciously.

Dr Seun Ebiesuwa who advised the students to put God first, thereafter is self discovery; people who don’t discover themselves live other people’s lives which won’t make such individual maximize his or her full potential. He also urged the student to go for a particular class division (Science, Art or Commercial) because their aptitude applies with it and not because someone wants them there.
