The association of Medical Laboratory scientists of Nigeria, Babcock university teaching hospital chapter celebrated the world Biomedical science day and the theme for the event was ‘War against Covid-19, is the battle over?”  And it featured a public lecture and award ceremony.

Professor Dora Akinboye the Dean school of public and allied Health of Babcock University who was also the guest speaker stated that everyone around the world has been much affected by the Covid-19 in various ways, the war against Covid was strategized in various ways; the government agencies made sure some certain criteria were in place, like the use of Nose mask from furthering the spread of the virus, shutting down of transport organizations to stop the transferring of the virus to different places. In her speech, she explaine that the current global situation as at year 2022 is that there was a decrease by the end of January 2022 but is the battle really over as the Federal Government has ended mandatory use of Nose masks in Public places.

The Olofin of Ilishan Oba Micheal Olufemi Mojeed who was also present stated that circumstances are the rulers of the weak, he said that the celebration is all for good and hopes the ball is kept rolling and with scientific discoveries we can do better for the benefit of mankind.

The Vice Chancellor having been presented with the Excellence award dedicated it to faithful workers of Babcock especially the Health Workers how peculiar they are, to not just Babcock but the world.  He prayed that the Covid-19 would soon be over so that everything would go back to normal.
