Providing sound scientists for the benefit of humanity.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Department, which as of now, consists of Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics is to instill in students and equip them with a broad and balanced foundation in the sciences to enable them carry out further studies in the sciences and other disciplines that are scientifically related; use their knowledge and skills in solving a wide range of theoretical and practical problems in other disciplines. It is expected that the knowledge gained will be such to enable them conduct researches needed to solve societal needs.

PHILOSOPHY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department is poised to instill in students a sense of enthusiasm for the sciences, and an appreciation of its application in different areas and to involve in stimulating, satisfying experience of learning and studying. To provide students a broad and balanced foundation in scientific and practical knowledge in sciences. The Department also has the aim of developing in students the ability to apply scientific knowledge and skills to the solution of theoretical and practical problems in life, provide a range of transferable skills of value in the sciences, and provide sufficient background to enable the students do further studies in specialized areas of sciences or other disciplines involving sciences.

OBJECTIVES

i) The course offered by the Department is designed to provide students with a variety of skills needed to survive and succeed in the high technological environment in the church, industry and general society.

ii) Through projects involving real life applications, our students will be made to have a broad background of knowledge which will enable them to contribute to the growth of the church and the society in general.

Course offered:
The Department offers Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics/Electronics.
It is hoped that financial mathematics (or industrial mathematics), Industrial Chemistry, Biotechnology and Environmental Management and Toxicology will soon the offered.
It is also hoped that postgraduate courses in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics will begin by 2019.
